Dr. John Dudley, DC

Dr. Dudley was born and raised in Reno Nevada. He attended local schools and graduated from the University of Nevada with a Bachelor’s in Medical Sciences. He began a master’s program at UNR in exercise physiology however due to his own back pain decided to become a Chiropractor. Soon after his marriage to his wife Kathy in 1981, he began attending Palmer West Chiropractic College in Sunnyvale CA. He graduated with honors in June of 1984 and returned to Reno to open his practice.

Dr. Dudley has had an active practice since 1985. He completed an advanced course in Chiropractic Orthopedics from Los Angeles College of Chiropractic in 1997 and is Board Eligible. Dr. Dudley uses a number of techniques for adjusting the spine and extremities. Most of his adjusting is done using a Thompson drop table where he incorporates Thompson, Pierce and Chiropractic Biophysics and Activator techniques. He also uses a floor mounted upper cervical Atlas Orthogonal percussion instrument to correct subluxation of the atlas and axis (the two top vertebra in your spine). Dr. Dudley does not use any twisting manipulation techniques.

Dr. Dudley has been certified as an Independent Chiropractic Examiner by the American Board of Independent Medical Examiners and by the North American Academy Impairment Rating Physicians. Dr. Dudley has been a Designated Impairment Rating Physician for the Nevada Department of Industrial Insurance since 1997.

Dr. Dudley has skied since he was a young boy and worked as a ski instructor and ski tech for many years. He is a certified ski instructor. He also enjoys road cycling, weight lifting and general physical fitness. He is a past Nevada state Power lifting champion in his weight class. He spent many years coaching little league and volunteering in local junior league ski racing. Dr. Dudley was the treating Chiropractor for the US Women’s Powerlifting Team. He has treated numerous Ski Racers, Professional Cyclists, Bodybuilders, World Class Powerlifters as well as diverse High School and College athletes ranging from Softball, Baseball, Basketball, Football and Golf.


Kathryn Dudley

Kathryn (Kathy) Dudley was born and raised in Reno, NV. She attended local schools and the University of Nevada Reno. After her marriage to John in 1981 she transferred to San Jose State University where she received a bachelor’s degree in Nursing in December of 1984. After relocating to Reno, she worked in many facets of Nursing including Medical Surgical, Rehabilitation (receiving certification as a CCRN in 1987), Home Health and Case Management.

She transitioned her Nursing career to Dr. Dudley’s office in 2000 where she functions as the office manager and specializes in patient education. She has spent her time since then enhancing her education in alternative medicine and nutrition, concentrating on the importance of diet, vitamin supplementation and herbal preparations. She has recently completed a certification as a Holistic and Integrative Health Nurse.

Kathy is active in yoga, road cycling and general physical fitness. She likes to practice what she preaches to her patients and is an organic gardener and cook. She is also an award winning watercolor artist and a member of the Sierra Watercolor Society and participates in numerous shows through out the Truckee Meadows.
